A pet event will be coming up soon. This will be a chance for a small sugar glider gathering. Update yourself soon as I will be posting up a proper update for this event. Hi,
I’ve got a female joey called Lucy. I’ve had her for the past coupla weeks, and she’s almost 10 weeks OOP. She seems very attached to me, and is not willing to stray far from me even for a short time. She will start crabbing everytime I put her down or if I put her in her cage, and will only quiet down if I pick her up or put her in her pouch. And if I put her on the floor she will follow me around everywhere.
I don’t know if this is the right place to ask questions, but I was just wondering what is the right time for playtime? Do I have to wait for her to wake up(around 11pm), as I do now, or can I wake her earlier, say around 9pm?

Great that you have gotten yourself a suggie. Well, it is a good sign that she is trusting you already. Following you is a sign that she is bonding with you very well already so congrats to you.
The right time to play with them is in the late evening. It doesn’t need to be 11pm, but some of us do stay up till about 1am to play with them. Once the sky is dark, a glider can start to come out and play or socialize with you. You can wake her earlier, no problem. She will learn to adapt to the new wake up time. Just don’t play too long, say you play with her for about an hour, let her have a good rest in the cage before another turn of playing. Also do use a dim light because gliders become very active when the lights are out or if the light is dim.
