Glider Poop!

Once I remembered someone asking me to get a picture of glider poop. How does it look like? Dry or wet? Brown or black?

LOL, a healthy glider would have solid poop, that is moist enough to stick to your hand but never wet and runny like porridge. Colour can be brown, black, light brown, red or orange. Normally red or orange comes from the fruits it has eaten, like papaya or carrots or even watermelon.

The poop should never be runny. If it doesn’t hold itself like toothpaste, then it is a sign that your glider is suffering from diarrhea.

Hello. I have recently bought a joey. He is nine weeks old. His former owners were feeding him cat food. I have started him on fruit relish(frozen), and veggie relish. Today I noticed that his poop was runny. Do u know why, and if so, how can I help him? Thank you

      Hi
What is fruit relish and veggie relish? Frozen whole fruits or in liquid form?
The poop could be runny coz of the sudden change in diet and it could be from bad gut bacteria. So get some yogurt and feed it to him, a few drops of it should be fine. And introduce some isotonic drink diluted in water. I normally use 100+ or Gatorade, mix 1 part of that with 1 part of water and feed it to your glider. It helps.

Hi, sorry for the late reply. Missed out your comment.

It is normal for a joey to experience runny poop when they change their diet. Since he was on a catfood diet, his gut is not as healthy, so when you feed veggies and fruits, it can cause a little indigestion and the gut adjust itself. I think by now your joey should be passing out normal poop.
